Dramatic re enactments of the refugee crisis of Toronto in the summer of 1847 when 40000 refugees arrived on the city's shoreline. Set within

a documentary on the exodus of sick refugees from the potato famine in Ireland and the outbreak of typhus that claimed thousands of lives

and threatened to wipe out the settlements that received them.
